Securing the Border
Joe Biden’s open-border policies have compromised our national security and public safety. Under his watch, 8 million undocumented immigrants have crossed the border illegally, including hundreds on the terrorist watchlist, and yet the numbers keep increasing.
Stan Gerdes is fighting to turn the tide of illegal immigration. He secured $6.6 billion to finish the wall, increase border patrols, and strengthen ports of entry, making it the largest investment in border security in Texas' history. Stan will not stop fighting until the border is fully secured from drug dealers, human traffickers, and cartel members who threaten our nation and our state.
Fighting for Lower Taxes
Texas had some of the highest property taxes in the nation. Stan Gerdes took action and passed the biggest property tax cut in U.S. history, providing $18 billion in tax relief to millions of homeowners and small businesses.
This legislation expanded tax exemptions and introduced caps on appraisals to protect property owners from excessive appraisal increases. Stan will continue to push for permanent tax decreases to help our families because hardworking taxpayers should get to keep what they earn.
Second Amendment Champion
Stan Gerdes is a proud defender of the Second Amendment. As an unapologetic gun owner, his family has been proudly manufacturing the world’s most accurate rifles right here in Texas since the 1980’s.
Stan is endorsed by the National Rifle Association and Texas State Rifle Association, he will fight to secure our right to bear arms. He believes every citizen has a right to protect themselves and their family. This country was built on the idea that freedom and liberty should prevail against all forms of government tyranny. The Constitution grants the people the power to keep this a reality. That is why Stan will do everything to shield our right to firearms.

Stan Gerdes believes that all life is sacred and must be protected. That all children, born and unborn, deserve to be treated with dignity. As a father, he has seen firsthand the preciousness of a child and the importance of raising them in a family. As State Representative, Stan ensured that families in need will have health insurance for prenatal care through the first year of a newborn's life. Stan will always support pro-life initiatives and support for families.
Education and Public Schools
Education prepares our children to enter the workforce and pursue their dreams. Stan Gerdes supported funding our public schools so our students have the best resources available to them to learn. He has also invested heavily in training grants to provide job training, apprenticeships, and education courses to rural communities. However, none of this would matter without our excellent teachers. Recently, Stan secured a much-needed cost-of-living adjustment for our retired educators. Stan stands with education 100%.
Protecting Texas Children
As parents, our biggest concern is the safety of our children. Stan Gerdes increased the protection of our kids both at home and in school. He passed a bill that protects minors online by limiting their access to social media to prevent big tech and sexual predators from preying on them. Additionally, Stan dedicated $6 billion to upgrade school safety procedures across Texas, which includes armed officers, rapid response measures, and mental health training. Stan will do whatever it takes to defend Texas children.
Defending Rural Water
As the Austin sprawl continues to place heavy demands on Central Texas’ water resources, it is more important than ever that we have groundwater and surface water protections in place. Stan Gerdes has worked on critical legislation to protect our local water resources and he will continue that work as our State Representative.
Water is vital for life, especially in our rural farming and ranching communities. Stan will continue to fight for commonsense legal measures to protect District 17.
