Securing the Border
Texas is leading the fight to finish President Trump’s wall and restore law and order to our southern border. Stan Gerdes has worked closely with law enforcement and ICE to pass tough new laws that strengthen cooperation between local, state, and federal agencies to stop illegal crossings and deport criminal aliens.
Over the past few years, Stan passed major border security bills providing over $6 billion in funding to continue building the wall, expand border patrol operations, and crack down on human trafficking and fentanyl smuggling. Stan Gerdes will never back down from defending Texas sovereignty — he’ll keep fighting until the border is fully secured from cartels, traffickers, and anyone who threatens the safety of our state.
Fighting for Lower Taxes
Texans work hard, and they deserve to keep more of what they earn. Stan Gerdes helped deliver the largest property tax cut in American history, and in the 89th Legislative Session, he fought to raise the homestead exemption and expand the business personal property tax exemption from $2,500 to $125,000, providing relief to homeowners, small business owners, and job creators across the state.
Stan believes in a small government that doesn’t burden families with higher taxes. He’ll continue fighting for permanent property tax relief and reforms that keep government small, efficient, and accountable to the taxpayers who fund it.

Stan Gerdes is a proud defender of the Second Amendment. As an unapologetic gun owner, his wife’s family has proudly manufactured the world’s most accurate rifles right here in Central Texas since the 1980s.
Stan is endorsed by the National Rifle Association and Texas State Rifle Association, and he will fight to secure our right to bear arms. He believes every citizen has a right to protect themselves and their family. This country was built on the idea that freedom and liberty should prevail against all forms of government tyranny. The Constitution grants the people the power to keep this a reality. That is why Stan will do everything to shield our right to firearms.

Protecting Texas Children
Texas parents can count on Stan Gerdes to protect children from radical leftist attempts to sexualize and exploit them. In the 89th Legislative Session, he helped pass strong laws to stop gender modification procedures on minors, ban explicit drag shows for children, and crack down on obscene materials in schools and libraries.
He also voted to protect kids online by holding social media companies accountable and restricting access to predatory platforms and explicit content. Stan will continue to defend Texas children from the dangers of radical ideology and exploitation wherever it appears.

Stan Gerdes helped pass Senate Bill 7, a historic investment in long-term water infrastructure that secures the resources our rural communities need to thrive. He has authored and passed dozens of bills to safeguard our water and remains committed to prioritizing this critical issue every single day.
Water is the foundation of life, agriculture, and economic growth. Stan will keep fighting to protect groundwater, invest in new water projects, and ensure the rural communities of House District 17 have a reliable and sustainable supply for generations to come.
